In-Play Review of 888Sport
Like almost all major online bookmakers, 888Sport have a section of their website devoted to in-play betting. Within that section, punters will find loads of live betting events covering a multitude of different sports. Football, horse racing and tennis are three of the most popular sports for in-play betting and each benefit from an excellent in-play dashboard from 888Sport.

In order to improve the punter experience for their punters, lots of online bookmakers have started to make live streams of events available through their websites and mobile betting apps. 888Sport are no different and offer their punters the ability to watch live streams of some events from the following sports:

Bad Reviews & Complaints
Just like any bookmaker, or in fact any customer facing business, 888Sport does receive the odd negative review and is the subject of some customer complaints. We’ve taken a look at some of those reviews and complaints, through channels such as Trust Pilot and the App Store, in order to ascertain whether they reveal any genuine and notable problems with the company.
When you do peruse the online customer reviews of 888Sport, there are quite a surprising number of negative reviews which have been posted. This is obviously concerning for anyone who is considering using the bookmaker, but not all of those negative reviews should be taken at face value.
Questionable Complaints
A large number of the negative reviews, for instance, complain about the terms and conditions of the 888Sport welcome offer. Whilst punters would obviously prefer an offer to have no limitations, the terms of 888Sport’s promotions are readily available for customers to read and don’t differ much from the conditions applied to almost every other similar offer from other bookmakers.
Another common cause for complaint by disgruntled 888Sport customers is that they have been asked by the company to verify their identity. Whilst it’s understandable that the time this can take is often frustrating and the fact that verification is often requested when attempting to withdraw rather than deposit is a little annoying, such verification is something which 888Sport are required to do by law. They are bound by the terms of their licence, after all, to prevent their site from being accessed by anyone underage and to prevent any other criminal activity from taking place.
Reasonable Concerns
Not all complaints posted about 888Sport are as easily explained or mitigated, however, and negative reviews regarding the bookmaker’s mobile apps are a good example. The vast majority of those reviews complain of the apps being slow and prone to crashes, and this is worth keeping in mind if you like to bet swiftly, on the move.
888Sport Review – Our Rating
- Wide range of markets. 888Sport cover a huge range of different sports and take lots of events in-play.
- Multiple promotions. A wide selection of ongoing promotions are run for new and existing customers.
- Horse & greyhound live streams. Punters placing at least a £1 bet on races can watch those races live.
- Simple & generous welcome offer. Bet £10 get £30 promotion is similar to most other bookmakers’ offers and is easy to claim.
- Impressive In-Play. In-play events benefit from a good selection of markets and dashboards feature live scoring and other graphics.
- Other sports streams. Unlike many major competitors, 888Sport do not offer streams of events other than horse or greyhound racing.
- Slow & unresponsive apps. 888Sport’s downloadable apps can be a little ponderous to use and are prone to annoying glitches.
- 1/3 of welcome offer limited to mobile. 888Sport stipulate that one of the £10 free bets available via their welcome promotion, has to be placed using a mobile device.
888Sport are one of a number of major online bookmakers who provide a very good online betting service to punters. The bookmaker’s array of markets and sports covered by those markets are excellent, and they also run an interesting a potentially beneficial selection of promotions. The 888Sport service isn’t without problems, however, and those include a lack of live streams away from horse and greyhound racing and somewhat sluggish mobile apps. Star Rating: 4 out of 5.
