New Customer Bonus & Promotions
Boylesports run a questionable new customer promotion and one we feel is a little on the smaller side. That promotion gives punters brand new to Boylesports the chance to earn up to £25 worth of free bets.
The first £5 free bet is credited if a punter places an initial £10 sportsbook bet at odds of 1/2 or greater. Up to a maximum of four further free bets, each worth a maximum of £5, can then be triggered and will be match to the value of 50% of the average of the next three qualifying sportsbook bets placed. Free bets can only be triggered within 30 days of opening a new Boylesports account.

Withdrawing
Each free bet triggered as part of the Boylesports welcome promotion is worth a maximum of £5 and will be removed from a punter’s account if they are not used within seven days. The free bets cannot themselves be withdrawn but are available to use to place a bet on any sportsbook market. If a bet placed using a free bet token ends up being a winning one, the winnings returned will exclude the initial free bet stake. Those winnings, however, are paid in real cash just like the winnings from any other bet, and so are able to be withdrawn as and when a punt desires.

Punters who do decide to give Boylesports a try are sure to be delighted by the sheer volume of betting markets which the Irish bookmaker offer. Covering both pre-event and in-play alternatives, those markets are available across the following wide range of different sports from all around the world:
- American Football
- Athletics
- Aussie Rules
- Badminton
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Bowls
- Boxing
- Cricket
- Cycling
- Darts
- Football
- Futsal
- Golf
- GAA – Football
- GAA – Hurling
- Greyhound Racing
- Handball
- Horse Racing
- Ice Hockey
- Motorsport
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union
- Snooker
- Speedway
- Table Tennis
- Tennis
- UFC/MMA
- Volleyball
- Winter Sports
As we mentioned above, the markets offered by Boylesports across that range of different sports include both pre-event and in-play alternatives. Unlike many bookmakers, Boylesports don’t indicate the markets which will go in-play with any kind of symbol. Instead, if you want to know what in-play options you will have for a given event, you will first need to head to the in-play section of the Boylesports website. From there you can locate your match or event and click on it to reveal the markets which are, or will be going, in-play.
Those markets for which cash out is available from Boylesports, meanwhile, are identified by a small symbol. Located next to the name of any given market, the symbol depicts a stake of coins with a small circle toward the top right of that stack. Wherever that symbol appears, the market in question will be eligible for cash out.
In-Play Review of Boylesports
Like most major bookmakers, Boylesports devote a dedicated section of their website to in-play betting. The main page within that section lists all of the current events that are in-play by sport and also offers a list of upcoming in-play events. When a punter selects a given event, they will then be taken to that event’s in-play dashboard. The dashboards differ a little from sport to sport, but the following should give you an idea of how they work and what they include.
Football In-Play

Football stats & in-play graphics.
Open a football match’s in-play dashboard and a Boylesports punter will immediately notice that the top of the page is inhabited by a football pitch graphic. That graphic is interactive and users can select whether they want it to display the match score and clock, real time updates of what’s going on in the game or one of a selection of handy statistics. Beneath that pitch graphic, meanwhile, are listed all of the currently available in-play markets for the match to make it quick and easy to put bets on.
Tennis In-Play

Live tennis betting dashboard.
The Boylesports tennis in-play dashboard is similar to the football version, in that it combines betting markets and live scoring and statistic features. Once again, at the top of the dashboard a graphic is on show, which this time depicts a tennis court. On and around that graphic the match score, live updates from the match and a wide range of different statistics can be displayed to help punters pick which bets the wish to place. The betting markets that are available, meanwhile, are clearly listed beneath that very graphic.
Horse Racing In-Play
In common with pretty much every other online betting sites, Boylesports does not have a facility for betting on horse races in-running. That is a feature reserved pretty much exclusively for betting exchanges like Betfair and Betdaq. If a punter heads to a race’s page on the Boylesports website at or around start time and have bet at least £1 on the race, however, they can select the ‘Bet & Watch’ link and view a stream of the race as it happens.
Visit Boylesports.com & select ‘In-Play’ to see all markets & odds now.
Live Streaming
Boylesports are not one of the biggest online bookmakers around, and that perhaps explains why they do not offer as comprehensive a live streaming service as some of their larger, better off competitors. In fact, whilst some betting sites offer streams of a comparatively wide range of sports, Boylesports only provide live video of the following:
- Horse Racing
- Greyhound Racing
How to Access Streams
Whilst Boylesports live streams are limited to just horse racing and greyhound racing, for those sports their service is impressively comprehensive. There is a stream available to view, after all, for every UK and Irish horse and greyhound race.
In order to be eligible to view any given stream, a Boylesports customer has to simply have placed a bet worth at least £1 on the race being shown. If they’ve met those criteria, they can head to the race’s page on the Boylesports site and select the ‘Bet & Watch’ option to access the stream.
Visit Boylesports.com & select ‘Bet & Watch’ next to your race to watch live.
Geo restrictions apply, bet & watch.

Boylesports History
1989
John Boyle opened his first betting shop, thus founding the company which would become Boylesports.
2006
After a prolonged period of gradual but steady growth, Boylesports opened their 100th betting shop.
2011
Boylesports were involved in saving a total of 165 jobs, by first taking over 17 Celtic Bookmakers betting shops when that company went out of business and then a raft of William Hill shops when the bookmaker withdrew from the Irish market.
2015
Following the lead of many other bookmakers with an online betting service, Boylesports moved some of their operations offshore. They opened a marketing operations centre in Ocean Village, Gibraltar.
2017
As of 2017, Boylesports were the second largest bookmaker in Ireland, operated 231 retail outlets in that country alone and employed over 1,700 people.
Bad Reviews & Complaints
As is the case with all companies which serve a comparatively large number of customers, Boylesports are regularly reviewed through channels such as Trust Pilot and the App Store. Those reviews range from the very good to the very bad, and we’ve taken a look at those negative reviews in order to determine any areas where prospective Boylesports customers may have reasonable cause for concern.
Questionable Complaints
A number of the more negative reviews of Boylesports single out the company’s promotions and claim that they are unfair or rigged. These complaints are clearly born out of punters’ frustrations at the terms, conditions and limitations attached to Boylesports promotions, which it is fair to say are some of the more restrictive.
All such terms and conditions are readily available to read before taking part in any Boylesports promotion, however, and so there is nothing underhand about how the bookmaker operate their offers.
Reasonable Concerns
Another common complaint flagged up by negative Boylesports reviews regards the company’s customer service and in particular their responses when a punter suffers a problem or difficulty.
There are a great many of these reviews on show via many different review channels and they all tend to describe Boylesports’ customer service as unhelpful and accuse the company of failing to care about their customers. These reviews are so numerous and so similar that it’s hard to believe there isn’t at least a degree of truth to them. As such, one can only hope that Boylesports are keeping as close an eye on their reviews and are acting to make some changes.
Boylesports Review – Our Rating
- Multitude of Markets. Boylesports cover a great range of different sports and provide loads of in-play betting markets.
- Good In-Play Dashboards. In-play events typically benefit from a dashboard complete with live scoring, updates and statistics.
- Horse and Greyhound Streams. All UK and Irish horse and greyhound races have live streams available to punters who bet at least £1 on the race.
- Ongoing Promotions. Boylesports run a good selection of interesting and innovative ongoing offers and bonuses.
- Poor Welcome Promotion. New customer offer provides comparatively small £25 and requires a large amount to be bet to trigger the bonus.
- No Sports Streams. Unlike some bookmakers, Boylesports do not provide live streams of any sports other than horse and greyhound racing.
- Customer Service. Online reviews suggest that Boylesports often fail to satisfactorily deal with customers’ problems and issues.
Boylesports are one of a number of online bookmakers which provide a perfectly satisfactory service to punters but suffer from a few notable issues which see them outdone by a few major competitors. The bookmaker offer a good range of both markets and promotions, and provide good in-play dashboards. Their welcome offer is amongst the least impressive around, however, and customer service issues reported by many punters are troubling. Star Rating 3.0 out of 5.0.
